Context
Our 300+ IT specialists in Belgium secure the IT environment, maintain our 600+ applications and are key in the introduction of new applications, enhancing digitalization.
They follow market standards (using Java, Angular,.NET,…) and best practices deploy applications to cloud solutions (Amazon Web Services, Azur) and transform data into business value.
We work in agile teams, focused on collaboration and team ownership, in order to achieve a successful product delivery.
In the context of our Digital Transformation, we are looking for a Software Engineer for the 'P&C Retail Distributor Sales' team.
In this context you will help bring about our Digital Transformation of the P&C Retail Sales process through the distribution channel, in support of our brokers and partners.
This transformation will allow our brokers and partners to work with us, by means of either a Front-end, which will be developed in house, or APIs, which our partners will integrate in their own front-ends. The Front-end and APIs will be integrated in our existing legacy backend systems.
As a Software Engineer you main tasks include:
- You create efficient design, develop user screens and interactions with back-end application using Angular and Java technologies
- You will join the engineering communities (Angular, Java) and participate in the DevOps and Cloud journeys
- You steer the evolution of engineering products and tools (SonarQube, SwaggerHub…)
- You maintain standards, venture in new concepts, help to prototype and adopt new methodologies and architectures
- You will join the cloud journeys on Amazon Web Services
- You play an active role in Agile ceremonies as part of the Agile delivery process (Quarterly Planning, grooming sessions, Sprint planning, daily scrum, retrospectives, demo)
- You will grow in areas like security, event-driven architecture, API management, serverless…
- You will become a proactive team member, ensuring an efficient, qualitative and sustainable software delivery
What you bring to the table
As a Software Engineer, you have:
Technical skills
- A master's degree in IT or in science technology with a strong interest in IT
- Knowledge of multiple front-end languages (HTML, CSS, Javascript or Typescript) and their libraries
- Experience in developing application in a single page using Javascript frameworks like Angular is an asset
- Knowledge of one of the common Object-Oriented programming languages, preferably Java
- Experience in working with restful API
- Experience in GitHub for source code management and for version control
- Experience with Cloud technology (Amazon Web Services,…) is an asset
- A test-driven development approach is highly appreciated

- Full working proficiency in English and one of the national languages (French or Dutch)
