One of our customer located in Perwez is looking for a Warehouse Manager with some Warehouse Management experience. As Warehouse manager, you are responsible for the performance and optimization of our European distribution Center in Perwez (near Brussels). You optimize the communication and cooperation between the distribution center and the sales and supply chain organization. You make sure that the distribution center works in a service oriented, cost efficient and safe way. You report to the Supply Chain Director. Key responsibilities of this function Incoming and outgoing goods Manage the incoming goods flow in terms of quality/quantity checking, administration and storage of goods in the right stock locations. Report issues to the Buying team and the Supply Chain Coordination team. Prepare and manage the outgoing goods flow in terms of quality/quantity checking, preparing goods for transport, administration and picking goods from the right stock locations. Report issues to the Buying team and the Supply Chain Coordination team. Storage of goods Optimize the physical stock locations and routing of the warehouse. Make optimal use of two bin principles in line with the NetSuite order picking process. Automate the order picking process thereby minimizing manual administration. Make sure that the goods are stored in a clean and safe way, thereby preventing the damage of goods. Make sure that stock figures are always accurate by implementing cycle counting and other business processes. Improve/automate warehouse processes Improve all warehouse processes (incoming goods, outgoing goods, storage of goods) and automate where possible. Also optimize the physical stock locations, logical lay out and routing of the Warehouse building. Manage the implementation of a warehouse management system and barcoding system. Manage the warehouse team Build a strong team based on mutual respect, a good team spirit and create a nice working environment. Connect the warehouse team with other departments like sales and supply. Manage the personnel cost; optimize the mix between interim and fixed personnel based on the planning. Safety Measures Create a safe and pleasant working environment with clear safety procedures and safety tools/means. Make sure that everybody has the right knowledge of – and complies to safety procedures at all times. Implementation of satellite warehouses Assist country managers with the set-up of plans and actual implementation of satellite warehouses in different countries. Define standards for processes, stock location and safety procedures. Management reporting Report issues and KPI’s, analyze differences between actual and target results, take corrective actions Your working day could look like this: You start the day with a short daily standup with your team discussing today’s priorities and the status of some actions point. After the standup, you have your weekly meeting with the Supply Chain director to discuss the status of your projects. The rest of the morning, you are in the warehouse to solve some issues and to check a few stock locations. After lunch with your colleagues, you start to work on your project for order picking automation. Later in the afternoon, you check the planning of the rest of the week and you arrange two interim employees for Friday.
